Dominick P. Scavicchio Sr., 80, of Boothwyn Died Tuesday March 1st, 2011 at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Elsmere, De. He was born to Giacomo and Maria Scavicchio in Marcus Hook, where he was reared and educated. He was a long-time resident of Marcus Hook before moving to Boothwyn.
Dominick was self-employed throughout his life. He was the owner of Ritz Fuel Oil and the 4D’s bar in Marcus Hook. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict, where he served as a cook.
He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. He loved to tell stories and discuss politics. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the senior citizens group. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. What he enjoyed most, however, was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his Wife Reenea Hoffman Scavicchio who died in 1981; His son David Scavicchio (1963); Granddaughter Reenea Hughes (2006); 2 Brothers, Mario and Daniel Scavicchio; 2 Sisters, Lucy Savin and Bessie Kulis.
He is survived by 2 Daughters, Donna Downey of Clayton, De and Denise Hughes of Boothwyn; 2 Sons Dominick Scavicchio Jr. of Boothwyn and Duanne Scavicchio of Downingtown; 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, March 5th at Holy Saviour Church in Linwood. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 7pm-9pm and Saturday Morning from 8:30am-9:30am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood, Pa. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery.
