Doris H. Clarke, 90, of Upper Chichester passed away on March 2nd at her home. She was raised and educated in Chester, where she was a graduate of Chester High School with the class of 1945. Doris was a woman who was dedicated to her home and family. She also worked at McDowell’s Lumber Yard and Chester Cambridge Bank. She enjoyed watching mystery shows on television. She also loved to read, do crossword puzzles, go to the beach, and shop.
She was predeceased by her Husband, Norman E. Clarke, Sr.; parents, James Jones and Mary Redgraves; Siblings, Gertrude Fowler, James (Pat) Jones, and Thomas Jones. She is survived by her children, Kathy Clarke, and Norman E. Clarke, Jr. ; Daughter-in-Law, Laura Clarke ; 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, March 9th at 11am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 10-11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
