James D. Schiliro – -2/3/2020

James D. Schiliro, 45, of Marcus Hook passed away on Monday, February 3rd, 2020.  He was born in Chester and raised in Marcus Hook.  He graduated from St. James High School with the class of 1992. James worked as a boilermaker with the local 13.  He was also an EMT with the Boothwyn Firehouse. He was a former Mayor of the Borough of Marcus Hook. James enjoyed his time as a ball boy for the Eagles.  He also liked fishing, hunting and boating, playing poker and taking trips to Florida.  He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, having also served as the Grand Knight.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Angie Schiliro; parents, Charlie & Sis Schiliro; sister, Lisa Repine; several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 11am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA.  Friends and family are invited to call from 9-11am. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Angel Food Pantry at Cokesbury United Methodist Church 307 Market St. Marcus Hook, PA 19061.

  1. Cousin Jay Jay was a great friend growing up many years ago. I know he will be missed by many. My prayers are for each and every one of you during this very difficult time. A sudden unexpected loss can be devastating, but lean on each other and remember the great times. I love you all, even from all the way down here in Arkansas. And Jay…FlyEaglesfly cousin!

  8. Don’t know where to start. I’ll call this Adventures with Jay. Christmas-eve tree trimming, burglar-proofing the apartment with thumb tacks, Vacation to Connecticut, angelic as an altar boy, ornery as an Eagles ball boy, EMT training while hunting, and the backup on a hose line while battling a building Fire in Marcus Hook. The world is a better place for having Jay the son, the brother, the father, the friend, the nephew, the EMT. Ang, Sis and Charlie, Jay will live on in Hearts.

  12. What can I say this is a shock. It seems like just yesterday you sat the crew room table helping me with homework in high school. You were a great friend to me over the years and I will miss you terribly! I will fondly remember the calls we ran together and our long talks in the engine bay. Always kind and thoughtful, always willing to lend a hand to help out, no matter what he had going on his life he had an ear to ear smile and never let it get in the way of his good samaritan deeds.
