James “Jim” P. Costigan, 61 years old of Quarryville, PA passed away April 16, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Holmes, PA to the late John E. and Theresa M. Calabrese Costigan, Jim had been a resident of Quarryville for many years.
Jim was a foreman for Philadelphia Ship in Philadelphia and worked for other shipyards throughout his career. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Germany.
Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and loved spending time with his family and his Black Lab “Boss”.
He was predeceased by his parents John E. and Theresa M. Costigan and his siblings John F. Costigan and Theresa Leon. Jim is survived by his wife Jane A. Costigan, nee Weir, 2 daughters Jessica Costigan of Lancaster and Stephanie Cacciatore-Hinckley of Ridley Park, 1 son Ronald Cacciatore of Aston, 2 sisters Margaret Sampson of Holtwood and Maryanna Erb of Peach Bottom, 1 brother William Costigan of Clifton Heights, son in law Robert Hinckley and daughter in law Margaret Cacciatore, 2 grandchildren Kirsten “Smiley” Nicole and Robert Hinckley and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to his funeral service Wednesday 8pm with calling from 7-8pm Wednesday evening, April 22, 2009 in Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood PA; burial private.
