Mary M. McArdle Lessik, 89, formerly of Upper Chichester passed away on Friday, October 26th at Riddle Memorial Hospital. She was born in Philadelphia to the late Charles and Anna McArdle. She was a graduate of Hallahan Girls High School with the class of 1947. Mary was a woman who was dedicated to her home and family. In addition, she also worked as a secretary and wrote human interest articles for the local newspaper. She enjoyed sewing, working on the family genealogy, and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. She was a founding member of St. John Fisher Church in Boothwyn. She also was the treasurer for many years of St. John’s on the Hill Senior Citizens organization.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Lessik (1994); son, Robert A. Lessik (1994) ; Siblings, Todd McArdle, Nan McArdle, Francis McArdle, Betty Martin, Arthur McArdle, and Helen Carmichael.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ellen Keeney (Stephen), Thomas Lessik (Denise), Michael Lessik
(Susan); 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Bannan; brother, Paul McArdle
Her funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 2nd at 10:30am at St. John Fisher Church 4225 Chichester Ave. Boothwyn, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 9-10:30am in church. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery. Online condolences can be sent through www.jwardfuneralhome.com
