Mary Teresa Dewees – 9/10/2019

Mary Teresa Dewees, 68, of Upper Chichester passed away on September 10th at Crozer Chester Medical Center. She was born in Chester to the late Francis J. Desmond, Jr. and Loretta Pizzoli.  Teresa was a lifetime member of the Ogden Fire Company.  She served as the secretary for the Delaware County Fireman’s Association.  She was also the former assistant coordinator of emergency management in Upper Chichester.  She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and making arts and crafts.

In addition to her parents, Teresa was predeceased by her husband, Hubert Dewees (2011); step-mother, Audrey M. Desmond (2007).

She is survived by her children, Adele Dewees, Brian Dewees, and Jennifer Dewees; grandchildren, Adrianna and Kallilynn Dewees, and Brian Dewees, Jr. ; brother, Francis Desmond, III (Candice); sister, Evelyn Desmond; special nieces, Amanda Hawkins, Angela Desmond, and Katrina Gilbert; several other nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 14th at 11am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA.  Friends and family are invited to her viewing from 10-11am at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.  Donations in her name can be made directly to the Ward Funeral Home to assist the family with the cost of services.

  3. On behalf of the members of Ogden Fire Company we wish to express our deepest sympathies to the Dewees family. Teresa was a Honorary Life Member, and served as Company Secretary at one point. Teresa also gave freely of her time and talents to other emergency response organizations, being always willing to assist with her big heart. The family should be proud of her contributions to the Community and Delaware County. Teresa will be missed but not forgotten.
