Peter J. Gurnick, III died peacefully in his sleep at home on July 12, 2021. Peter was raised and educated in Trainer where he was a graduate of Chichester High School. Throughout his life he worked as an electrician, auto mechanic, and tow truck driver. Pete loved to work on cars, going to drag races, making his morning coffee runs and hanging out by a fire with family and friends. Pete loved being around good people, and loved everyone who was a part of his life. To those people who loved him for simply being him, we thank you. He was truly one of a kind and appreciated every one of you. He was predeceased by his parents, Alberta Gurnick and Peter J. Gurnick, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Dee) Gurnick; son, Peter J. Gurnick, IV; daughter, Sara M. Merola; sisters, Roberta Miller (Bill), Sue Fisher (Fred); brothers, Steven Gurnick (Prudence), and Kevin Gurnick (Lorrie); aunt, Carol Sewell (Ted); many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
In his memory, Pete asked that people sit around a fire, have a few drinks, listen to music, and share the good times you had with him. His family will be planning a bon fire at the house soon and will announce the date and time via Facebook.
Donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital for Children at https://www.stjude.org/donate
