Thomas W. Smith, Sr. – 08/22/2020

Thomas W. Smith, Sr., 78, of Boothwyn passed away on August 21st at Crozer Chester Medical Center.  Tom was born in Philadelphia to the late Walter and Hazel (Armbruster) Smith.  He worked for many years as an auto mechanic. Tom enjoyed playing darts, attending car shows and listening to Elvis. When at home, he could often be found relaxing on the patio enjoying a cup of Wawa coffee. He was equal parts resilient, kind, loyal and loving. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by many.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Walter and Ervin Smith.  He is survived by his spouse, Gloria; Children, Fred (Dana) of Royersford, PA, Thomas Jr. (Lauren) of New Britain, PA, Joyce Daniels (Aubrey) of Marcus Hook, Donald Paterson of Boothwyn; grandchildren, Adelyne, Erica, and Alissa; sister, Anna Sands-Smith of Gibbstown, NJ; nieces, and nephews.

  1. R.I.P. Tom I cant beleive you are gone you were a great man!! You always said hi very frendly!!! Erica will miss you dearly!! Watch over her!!!

  2. Every morning we would begin our day with good morning how ya doin alright and give each other a high five.
    I never thought the time would come that we would all be standing here saying goodbye to my poppop. I really thought he would live forever. Every time he got sick he would literally bounce back to his normal self. Whenever I would get smart he would say I’ll put you over my knee girl thankfully that never happened lol. My poppop taught me how to use a drill, how to check the air pressure in my car multiple times, and he told me the next time we go to Walmart he would help me buy windshield wipers. My poppop loved to sit on the porch and wave to everyone. He especially loved to do his little squirrel call
    “How can the dead be truly dead when they still live in the souls of those who are left behind?” We all have special memories with poppop

  3. Your in heaven now causing trouble up there now with all our family and friends that have gone before you. I’ll make sure Mom is raking care of and the rest of the family Erica says live and miss you poppop see you again someday ❤😞

  5. I am so so sorry for your loss. Tom was a great friend and was always there to lend a helping hand and advise me if I needed help fixing anything. He was always on the front porch enjoying the sun shine and always had a hello for you. I am going to miss him as I already do.
    My heart goes out to his family, No words can express the pain you feel, just remember the good times that you had together and be happy. He is now in a good place and no longer suffering, He is now your guardian angel and will watch over you forever.

  9. I still can’t believe your gone. This still doesn’t seem real. I didn’t leave your side that dreadful day. I know you are no longer suffering. A part of us went with you. Please continue to watch over in heaven as you did here on earth. We will always love and miss you!
