William H. McNeal, Sr., 76, of Boothwyn passed away on April 3rd at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chester to the late Herman and Eileen Shields McNeal. He was raised and educated in Boothwyn where he attended Chichester High School. Bill worked as a merchant seaman. He also worked for many years as a maintenance mechanic for the Sun Ship Company, and he most recently retired from Piasecki Aircraft. He enjoyed fishing, but most of all, spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Barbara Pierce, and Charles McNeal; his beloved dog, Dice. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary McNeal; Children, William McNeal, Jr., Joseph McNeal (Jane), and Dana Balandiak (Pete); step-children, John Lewis (Darla), and Jennifer Owens (Phil); 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; brother, Larry McNeal.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, April 9th at 12pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St., Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited to his viewing from 11am-12pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Providence Animal Center 555 Sandy Bank Rd., Media, Pa 19063.
Dear Rosemary, Bill Jr. Joe and Dana, Our deepest sympathy on your loss. Bill was one of our dearest friends for more than 50 years he will be missed so very much. I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. He was a kind and gentle man. Rest in peace dear friend, you are leaving emptiness in many hearts.
