Anthony M. Szymanski (Uncle), 81, passed away at Courtland Manor in Dover, DE, February 6, 2008. Born and Wilmington, DE to the late Harry and Eva Cisak Szymanski, he resided in Boothwyn section of Upper Chichester for most of his life.
He was a veteran of the US Army and received the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was employed by Phoenix Steel Corp retiring in 1983 after working for 36 years, he was also a Union Steward while he was employed.
Mr. Szymanski was a member of Holy Savior Catholic Church and was very active in the parish. His mission in life was Pro Life. He was willing to go against the law for the cause of birthright. He built his own boat and loved the ocean, animals, and was very family oriented. If anyone in the family needed anything he was more than willing to help in anyway he could, his philosophy in life was gentleness and kindness and he was very family oriented.
He was predeceased by his parents and sisters Anna Labodzinski and Stella McDonald. He is survived by his sister Mary Smith of Ft. Meyers FL, and his nieces and nephews who cared for him, Richard and JoAnna Hooey, Dianne and Archie Bethard, Paula and John Davis and Michael McDonald, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass Monday, 10am Holy Savior Catholic Church. Viewing Sunday, 7-9pm and Monday, 8:30-9:30am, Joseph A. ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood.
