Larry A. Woodward passed away peacefully Saturday July 3rd 2021 in West Chester Pennsylvania. He was the only son born to Harry and Isabel Woodward of Avondale in 1942 and was a graduate of Octorara High. Larry also studied at Delaware Community College and was a lifelong resident of the East Branch Brandywine Creek area. He was the owner and operator of Brandywine’s cylinder head specialist shop on bridge Rd. and he was a very proud and committed AA member for his local community and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by both of his parents, his two sisters Lana Gill (Earl Shortledge) and Rita Woodward-Phillos; his son, Larry Woodward II and his niece Missy Gill. Larry leaves behind extended family and friends starting with his girlfriend, Patty; his son and daughter in law, Randy Woodward (Diane), his grandchildren, Randy Woodward Jr, Larry Woodward III, Kayla Woodward, Melissa Woodward-Witwer (Bill Witwer) & Debra Pugh, his great-grandchildren as well as his niece and nephew Stephanie Lucas and Steven Johansen. Larry will always be known for his big Brandywine bashes, his big heart and his just as big spirit, and his many accomplishments with race cars and hot rods along the way. He was the last of his generation and he will most definitely miss driving around West Chester in his old antique cars. He will be missed by so very many especially his family!
Larry, we sure had a good time growing up each summer when I had the pleasure of staying with you and Aunt Isabel & Uncle T. We have and shared many great memories throughout the years, 70 at my last recall, all the way from Ohio to Ocean City NJ with Eastern PA as a hub. Family reunions with your mom, as director, were always a blast. I could go on and on but know that you will be remembered with a smile and especially whenever tails are told. God bless and I look forward to learning how you made those engine heads work so fine. Yes, I know that will have to wait but I am sure our get together will be blessed.
You will be missed my friend. Love you,
Michele
