Theresa Ann Raiger – 1/4/2024

January 10th, 2024

Theresa Ann Raiger (nee Tenuto), of Linwood, PA, also known as Trix, peacefully passed away on January 4th, 2024 at the age of 65 in Chester, Pennsylvania.  Born on January 26, 1958, in Chester, PA, Theresa was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Theresa was a woman of strong character and unwavering loyalty.  She was a 1976 graduate of Padua Academy in Wilmington, DE.  Theresa fell in love with her husband, Steve Raiger, at the tender age of 15, and they sealed their love in marriage on October 9, 1976.  Together, they shared a journey filled with cherished memories and 47 years of devotion.  A loving and caring mother, Theresa took immense pride in her three sons, whom she affectionately referred to as “her boys”, and their accomplishments.  She provided them with unwavering support and guidance, shaping them into the remarkable individuals they are today.   Theresa’s heart overflowed with love for her family.  She was fiercely protective of those she loved.  Her daughters-in-law hold a special place in their hearts for her, as she always made sure they knew how much she loved them.

Theresa shared a deep connection with all of her sisters, a bond that was a source of strength to one another throughout their lives.  Theresa possessed a generous spirit, always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own.  She also had a goofy, mischievous side, and her playful nature brought joy to those around her.

One of Theresa’s greatest joys in life was her role as a doting grandmother.  She would spend precious moments with her grandchildren, nurturing their young minds and hearts.  Whether they were planting flowers in the garden, engaging in lively board games such as backgammon, or celebrating important milestones, Theresa cherished every opportunity to be with her grandchildren.  Her love and guidance will forever be etched in their hearts.

Theresa is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen Raiger, Sr. of Linwood, PA; her loving sons, Francis (Michelle) Raiger, Sr. of Boothwyn, PA, Stephen (Kathleen) Raiger, Jr. of Hatfield, PA, and James (Rachel Montoro) Raiger of Linwood, PA.  Her grandchildren, Alyssa, Francis Jr. (Sydney), Adrianna, Maddison, Aiden, Lia, Iasiah, Urijah, and Savannah, brought immense joy and pride to her life.  Theresa was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Jayce, Freya, Skye, Theodore, and Luna who added an extra sparkle to her world.  She leaves behind her sisters, Francine Tenuto of Defuniak Springs, FL, Linda Alberts of Boothwyn, PA, Nancy (Robert Sr.) Olsen of Muncy Valley, PA; sisters-in-law, Lori (Greg) Duncan of Aston, PA, Gail Utz of Astons, PA, Dawn Zayas of Tampa, Fl, and extended family, Andrea Raiger, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and countless friends, many with whom she shared a special bond.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Tenuto (nee Morris); brother, William “Billy” Childress; sister, Betsy Tenuto Young.  Their memory will forever be cherished.  A memorial service will be planned at a later date and time to honor Theresa’s life.  In the meantime, let us remeber her with gratitude for the many ways she enriched our lives.  May her soul rest in eternal peace.

In memory of Theresa Ann Raiger, her family kindly requests donations to be sent to any charity of choice in her name, honoring Theresa’s legacy of selflessness and compassion.
