Billy Ray “Henny” Henderson – 10/7/2022

Billy Ray “Henny” Henderson, 68, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Friday, October 7th.  He was born and raised in Chester where he attended Resurrection Grade School and St. James High School. He spent his career as a mechanic with the railroad.  Billy was an avid sports fan and a multiple sport athlete.  He played baseball, football, and later, softball.  What he enjoyed most was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he raised as his own.

He was predeceased by his parents, Billy Ray Henderson and Madeline McKniff Laird; step-daughter, Jennifer Laird; siblings, Donna Marie Laird and Steven Laird.

He is survived by his daughters, Shannon Henderson and Shianne Fay; grandchildren, Hailee, Cikylie, Angel, and Arianna; sisters, Cecelia, Helen, and Kathy; brothers, Gene, Donald, and Bobby.

His memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at 12:30pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, Pa.  friends and family are invited for visitation from 11-12:30. Burial will be private.

My name is Mark Flowers I was talking to Billie Saturday he wanted me to take him to pick up his truck which was towed he said coming home from the wedding whatever wedding he was at so if you need some information where the truck is give me a call 302-354-9784 like I said I was talking to him Saturday he wanted me to take him to the grocery store Sunday or Monday so when he didn’t call me I kept calling him never in 1 million years thought this happened so I’m so sorry for your loss but give me a call if you need anything or any information that I know when I was talking to him Saturday

  6. I was friends with and worked with Billy – who we on the railroad usually knew him as “Hollywood “ for years.

    He was always good for a laugh or doing something wildly inappropriate which made him even funnier.

    You can rest now my brother- you will be missed !

  7. The man that taught me all at Amtrak will be missed deeply my man “Hollywood” gone too soon you took me in under your wing at work and always told me let’s go “Son” rest easy will be missed by many God Bless
