Catherine Cubler – 1/14/2019

Catherine E. Cassidy Cubler, 70, of Boothwyn died Monday January 14th At home. Born in Chester to the late Joe and Sarah Pellegrino, she spent her childhood in Ridley Twp. where she attended Ridley High School. She lived approximately 30 years in the Sun Village section of Chester before moving to Indian Acres MD for 20 years. She has lived in Upper Chichester for the last 4 years. In the 1970’s she worked as a caregiver for children with special needs. She then went on to work at the Security Gate at Indian Acres for 10 years before her retirement.   During her lifetime, Catherine was known for her generosity and giving to other people.  She often functioned as a friend, mom, and a nurse, who did anything from taking out stitches to providing a place to stay for anyone in need.  She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward P. Cubler, Jr. ;Brother, Joseph; sister, Jacqueline Cassidy;  grandsons, William, Brandon , and Joshua; brother-in-law, Sam Empson.  She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Lynch (Al) with whom she made her home, and Heather Cubler; son, Francis Rickards (Roseanne); sisters, Suzanne Empson, Mary Myers (Bob), Elizabeth Gieder (Steve), and Linda Worrall; brothers, David Cassidy, James Cassidy, Hank Worrall, and James Worrall; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 10:30am at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, Pa.  Friends and family are invited to her viewing on Friday evening from 6-8pm and again on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30am.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Milmont Park, PA.

  2. I am sending my prayers to the family. Cathy was good to my family and I. I will never forget how much she did for me as a child. She was so sweet. I will cherish the memories I have of her. May God keep you strong in this time of grief.
