Edward M. Stipe – 5/17/2018

Edward M. Stipe, 69, of Boothwyn, affectionately known as Chevy Eddie, passed away on Thursday, May 17th at Riddle Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Chester to the late Edward K. and Mary DeFrank Stipe.  He was raised and educated in Upper Chichester.  Edward was a veteran of the US Army with whom he served during the Vietnam Conflict.  He worked for many years at King, James, and Thomas Chevrolet as an auto mechanic.  Ed enjoyed spending time restoring classic cars with his dearest friend, Frank O’Brien.

He is survived by his children, Theresa Stipe, Roxanne Stipe, Melanie Stipe and Stephanie McFadden Klinger; grandchildren, Ryan Stipe, TJ Hinkle, Anissa Phillips, Aniyah Phillips, Ryleigh Stipe, and Reagan Stipe; sister, Barbara Barrowclough; nephews, Aaron Barrowclough(Laura), and Adam Barrowclough (Tara); great-niece, Emma; great-nephew, Matthew; uncle, Albert DeFrank; numerous cousins and friends.

His memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25th at 1:30pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA.  Friends and family are invited to call from 12pm-1:30pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the American Diabetes Association at https://donations.diabetes.org.
