Age 56, of Claymont, DE, Berta departed her loving family and friends on April 24th, 2021 after she bravely fought Small Cell Lung Cancer for about a year and a half.
Berta graduated from Chichester High School in 1982. She worked at Home Goods in Claymont in her early adult life and then switched to cleaning houses for a living. She grew up in Chichester then moved to Claymont, DE in her late 20s. She was a flower child at heart and loved the color purple and peace signs. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed going for rides and adventures on the back of her fiancé’s Harley. She also enjoyed maintaining her flower garden. Above all else, she was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife/fiancé, mother, and grandmother.
She is predeceased by her father, Walter Bernard Sr; her step father, Ralph Figiel; her brother, Richard Figiel; her sister, Sandy Walter; her nephew, Kenny Johnson; and her husband, Stan Kordowski Sr.
She is survived by her son, Stanley (Melissa) Kordowski Jr, age 36, of Upper Chichester; her daughter, Jennifer Kordowski, age 32, of Claymont; her six Grandchildren (Stanley’s: Brody, Olivia, and Lydia. Jennifer’s: James, Jace, and Jaidyn); her fiancé, Don Rusden, of Claymont; her mother Sandra Figiel; and her two brothers, Walter and Tom Bernard. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her funeral services and burial will be private.

Very sorry to hear of Roberta passing,I prayed for her daily,she put up a good fight but God decided she needed to rest.I have known her since I was a young girl in Linwood and she always had a smile and something nice to say.I will miss her uplifting posts on FB. Roberts was a life long friend of mine.. I remember always being at her home in Linwood with her family they were all awesome, she introduced me to my first husband. I will always keep you in my heart my friend 💗
Our sincere condolences to the Kordowski family. We knew Roberta for a short time when she cleaned our home and she was always friendly and pleasant. Thinking of you during this difficult time.

Roberta was a wonderful person and became part of our family. I loved hearing her talk about her children and grandchildren. She loved them so much! My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
