Thomas F. Hughes, 59, formerly of Marcus hook passed away on Saturday, April 16th at Naamans Creek Country Manor. He was born in Philadelphia to the Late Joseph J. Hughes, Sr. and Jacqueline Young Hurt. Tom was raised in Marcus Hook and was a graduate of Chichester High School with the class of 1983. He was a former member of the Viscose Firehouse in Marcus Hook. Tom was an avid sports fan who loved to engage in discussions about players and statistics. He was a huge fan of the Georgetown Hoyas. He also enjoyed watching soap operas, Oprah Winfrey Show and the Wizard of Oz. What he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his step-mother, Betty Jo Hughes; siblings, Bill Hughes (Jamie), Joe “Dody” Hughes, Jr., Florence Nesspor, and Fran DiNardo (William); Aunt, Cathi Lewis (Thomas); many nieces and nephews.
His funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 21st at 10:30am at Immaculate Conception Church in Marcus Hook, PA. Friends and family are invited to call in church from 9:30-10:30am. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name can be made to Naamans Creek Country Manor at 1194 Naamans Creek Rd., Garnet Valley, PA 19060.
